Mower Repair Center

Start with the symptom, verify your mower’s exact model and serial information, and replace only the part the diagnosis supports. MowForge Supply’s Repair Center helps you narrow down common mower problems before you order.

Before you order a part

  • Record the complete mower, engine, transmission, or deck model number—not just the equipment brand.
  • Compare the full OEM or manufacturer part number, including every letter and suffix.
  • Confirm deck size, orientation, connector style, mounting pattern, and package quantity where applicable.
  • Use the equipment manufacturer’s service instructions and required safety procedures.

Engine and starting problems

Mower won’t start

Check fresh fuel, battery condition, safety-interlock position, spark-plug condition, and whether fuel is reaching the carburetor. Do not replace the carburetor until the fuel, ignition, and safety systems have been checked.

Engine surges or runs unevenly

Inspect the air filter, fuel quality, fuel lines, tank vent, and carburetor passages. Surging can have several causes, so match any replacement part to the exact engine model and type code.

Deck, blade, and cutting problems

Blades won’t engage

With the engine off and the key removed, inspect the deck belt, belt routing, idlers, tensioner, PTO connection, and spindle movement. A broken belt is common, but electrical PTO and safety-switch faults can create the same symptom.

Deck vibrates when the blades engage

Stop operating the mower until you check for damaged or unbalanced blades, packed debris, loose mounting hardware, spindle play, and pulley damage. Severe vibration can damage the deck and driveline.

Drive and movement problems

Zero-turn or riding mower won’t move

Confirm the transmission bypass levers are in the operating position, then inspect the drive belt, tensioner, control linkage, fluid leaks, and each wheel drive. Hydrostatic units must be matched by the complete build code because visually similar units can have different shafts, controls, gearing, or orientation.
